What Counts as Reading Minutes?
o Reading MUST be done BEFORE or AFTER school or on the WEEKENDS
o Reading DURING class time DOES NOT count
o Reading for school assignments DOES count IF it is done outside the classroom
o Traditional books, graphic novels, and audio books DO count
o Having a book read out loud to a child DOES count
o One student reading out loud to another student counts for BOTH students’ readings logs!
Please encourage honest tracking and recording to ensure fairness and fun for everyone
Any minutes entered on the website BEFORE our start date will automatically be reset to zero on October 20th.
If there are any accessibility issues or concerns, please let us know. Minutes can be recorded on the back of the flyer that will be coming home and then turned into your child's teacher on November 3rd.
